Healing The Wounded Heart Shop

Hue, Vietnam

Healing The Wounded Heart is a humanitarian aid project founded in 2003 by the Spiral Foundation, in cooperation with the Office of Genetic Counseling and Disabled Children OGCDC, Hue College of Medicine and Pharmacy.

HWH was created by a small group of disabled artisans using discarded materials such as plastic, soda cans, food wrappers, textiles, etc. By recycling they are contributing to the common good cleaning the environment and using materials to transform them in precious gifts.

Healing the Wounded Heart clears the streets of discarded plastics, it recycles scrap materials while generating work, facilitating opportunities for disabled artisans to regain dignity. Participants are themselves empowered to become donors to others in greater need: every month Healing the Wounded Heart artisans donate part of their income to help fund a heart surgery in the Hue province via OGCDC.
